Riverside Time Line
This time line, painted at Riverside Primary School, stretches across two large walls in their play ground. We started with the Dinosaurs then using points in history that the teachers wanted included to coincide with lessons, painted 24 smaller pictures leading up to the Millennium with space on the wall next to it for 'the future' and a notice board with current events and news for the school, The teachers also planned to put QR codes next to each of the images so that students and parents could interact with the time line. For this reason, we only put on dates and some limited text. We painted the back ground of the mural in the school colours, to tie the time into the rest of the schools decor. This took us three weeks due to the amount of detail in each image and the large amount of preparation we had to do to the wall beforehand due to it's age and condition. We painted most of the time line during the summer holidays, but we finished it off once the children were back at school. They really enjoyed seeing when a new picture was added, and liked testing each others history knowledge!
